B2B, which stands for "Back to Basics", was started in 2003 by founder Marc Shoenfelt by accident. Marc was looking for a high school head coaching position, and was frustrated with the political nature of hiring coaches. When he and his wife decided they wanted to stay home with their first child, Marc decided to dabble in private lessons for kids to make some extra money to support the family.

Fast-forward 8 years later, and Marc has done clinics internationally. He speaks to youth coaches across North America, teaching them the skills and drills to be successful while having fun. He has written a book entitled "Baseballs Forgotten Basics", and has written for two national publications (Baseball Youth Magazine and the 7th Inning Stretch). He also ran the summer camps for the Lancaster Barnstormers for 5 years, as well as doing play-by-play on Blue Ridge Cable 11 for the independent professional team. He has appeared on Comcast Sportsnet with Michael Barkann, and interviewed on FOX Sports Radio.

The next progression was to obviously build an indoor baseball academy. Lancaster was in dire needs of an indoor facility, so it made sense to build a state-of-the-art complex.

After searching 3 years to find a suitable partner, the right person was found due to a chance meeting...Dave Fassnacht. Dave's vision, business savvy, and love for the game was a perfect match for Marc and B2B Baseball. In August of 2008, B2B Baseball & Softball Academy was born.

Marc played shortstop for two years at division one University of Louisiana Monroe, then transferred to division two powerhouse Mansfield University of PA. While at Mansfield, his team won two PSAC championships, two Northeast Regional Championships, and went to the College World Series both years. The team led the nation in hitting his senior season with a national best .371 batting average. They were ranked #1 in the nation during that season. Not only does he have the baseball background, but he was a teacher for 12 years. He won the Amerihost Teacher of the Year award in 2000 for his work with kids.

With his background, the obvious transition was to open a baseball academy for players to train. You will not find a more complete program for kids at all levels, from the new player to the professional. B2B strives to get all players better and improve their game while having fun. The business has grown not on a name, but the excellent instruction and success of their clients. B2B will keep striving to be the best baseball service in the country.
